The Old Ball Coach

There was talk over the winter when Notre Dame was searching for a football coach about how ND had fallen off and how it wasn't the same place it was 15 yrs. ago. There were even those haters who celebrated the fact that Urban Meyer spurned Notre Dame, allegedly his dream job, for the sunny skies of Florida.

Well not only does it look like ND made a better hire than Meyer, with Charlie Weiss. It also looks like Florida hired the wrong guy in Meyer. The Old Ball Coach, Steve Spurrier, punked Florida and Meyer on Saturday in Columbia. Spurrier beat Florida with less talent and Lou Holtz's players. Meyer's spread isn't working in Gainsville. Some even feel like its time for Meyer to take his "gimmick offense" back to the Mountain West. The folks at www.firecoachmeyers.com feel like its time for Meyers to go.

All I'm saying is that the celebratin at the demise of Notre Dame might have been premature.
